Must have

Concepts of Physics

H.C. Verma
★★★★★

The foundation. Do every problem in Vol 1 before touching anything fancier — HCV teaches the why, not just the how.

Must have📐

Coordinate Geometry

S.L. Loney
★★★★★

Gold standard for coordinate. Tough, old-school, and exactly the level JEE Advanced expects from you.

Must have🧪

Physical Chemistry

O.P. Tandon
★★★★☆

My numericals workhorse — pair it with NCERT theory and Physical Chemistry stops being scary.

Coaching, decoded

Institutes — the verdicts, minus the marketing.

Personal opinions from real student experiences. Always trial a batch before you commit a year and a lakh.

Allen Kota

Offline · Kota
4.2/5
Recommended
Best for disciplined students who thrive in structure and weekly testing.

FIITJEE

Offline · Pan-India
3.8/5
Recommended
Strong problem-solving culture; the question banks alone justify it for Advanced.

Physics Wallah

Online + Offline
3.5/5
Depends
Unbeatable on budget; quality varies by teacher and batch — research yours.

Unacademy

Online
3.3/5
Depends
Some excellent educators, but it's easy to drown in content. Curate hard.
The roadmap

Five phases from first chapter to exam hall.

The actual sequence I followed — order matters here, which is why it's numbered.

1
Foundation

Master NCERT first

30–40% of JEE Main is straight from NCERT. Know it cold before any coaching module or reference book.

2
Depth

One great book per subject, fully solved

HCV for Physics, OP Tandon for Physical Chemistry, Loney/Cengage for Maths. Finished beats started.

3
Pattern

PYQs before random problem sets

Ten years of PYQs, chapter-wise and timed. They teach the examiner's pattern — nothing else does.

4
Testing

Weekly mocks, ruthlessly analysed

Start six months out. Your mock mistakes are your real syllabus — log every one and re-solve weekly.

5
Final 90 days

Revision only — nothing new

Strengthen the weak, polish the strong, sleep seven hours. Burnout at 3 AM is bad planning, not dedication.

Arnav Makani — Production & Industrial Engineering at IIT Delhi, JEE Advanced AIR 3266, 99.74 percentile in JEE Main. EduStation is the guidance I wish I'd had during my own prep.

It's calibrated on historical NTA percentile-to-rank data; for most students the estimate lands within about ±15% of the actual rank. Treat it as a realistic planning number, not an official result.
